Anybody else got any dragon projects they're working on?

My long-term goal for Kaloki and Nebula is to gene them both irishim+smoke Coatls, which, ahaha, is a very, very long-term goal because the expense, it is very great! I'd also really love to get ChingShih into irishim+smoke too, because she looks really, really good with it. I'm basically in love with irishim dragons, would love to have a lair full of 'em! :3 But a little diversity is good too, haha.

So in the meantime I've been using my Neverending Story trio in the Coliseum, trying to get them all the way to level 25. It's both easier and harder than it looks! (And yes, I've been using Culex's guide.) Only the one of them (the Gmork, if I remember right) has got both Ambushes and they're level 17 right now.

So, what's up with your lairs? :3

Ugh, I have sooo many projects, you don't even know. I have several dragons that have been waiting for a tert gene that doesn't clash miserably with their primaries, so it looks like smoke will be it--but that's like ten smokes I want to buy! I do have a L25 glass cannon coli team, finally (I have been grinding a lot recently) but I'd like to level up my two-fighters-plus-healer team eventually. And I just bought and started scrolling Bidwell, who I am pretty sure is also getting shimmer wings and smoke. It's that or gembond--I love how gembond looks on coatls.

So yeah--smoke for Bidwell, Scholz, Eastport, Athena, Woodstock, YanFeier, maybe Tabor. Iri for Cerenkov, Berkeley, Winch, Anna, and Amanda. Shimmer for Tabor, maybe, Laurelhurst, probably. Circuit for Doyle, DaiZong, and maybe Kouki. Gembond for Nemesis and Bybee. I'd also like to shimmer/circuit Prexy, but that's sort of a long-term goal. And I think I want tiger on both DaiZong and DiRenjie.

... So yes. That's a lot. Anyone wanna buy some dragons?

Also, I have finally started buying dragons with an eye to actual plans instead of just "Hmm, shiny!"--so a lot of those dragons are from when I was first buying dragons and didn't really have a good idea of my lair was about, but I can't bear to exalt or sell them. So... projects it is!

I'm obsessing over the possibility of breeding a pure line of maize tundras. First I found a first gen mate for my progenitors' first-born. I bred them twice, and the second time one of the offspring came out double maize. She's second/third gen and I'm in full control of her bloodline. That's when the thought hit me and I started hunting obsessively for the perfect mate for her.

Ahahaa, I hear that. I kinda feel like smoke makes every dragon look good, you know? So I want it for ALL THE DRAGONS!! But I've yet to see it in the Market (which, lolsob, currently I wouldn't be able to afford even if I did!) and no way I'm buying it at the ridiculous AH prices.

Gembond does look really nice on coatls, I agree. I like them smoke'd better, heh, but they're one of the few breeds that wears the gembond really well, instead of having it come off like they've got some weird skin condition.

OOOOO, I hope you find one! Tundras are so ridiculous with their furry little behinds, lol. I wish they'd release a full-coated option for their appearance - a skin or something, even - just to see what they'd look like all shaggy and everything.

Yeah, I've started to get picky not just on my color balances on my terts but on which breeds look good with which tertiaries. I don't like a lot of the tert genes on seraph wings on most breeds, for example, because it looks too busy, but I like gembonds on coatls and pearlcatchers and skydancers, though not on almost anything else. (Male imps, sometimes. But I am really trying not to get into the imp breeding market.) I'm just glad for the existence of underbelly and now smoke as not-overwhelming choices.

Thanks to the revamped AH search I got my LAST AND FINAL HOMESTUCK DRAGON. Some could do with improvement, but finding a grey/grey/red male plague guardian will take a while and grey/thistle/red is close enough for now.

I'm waiting for a gene I really like with obsidian to gene up Enchantment, and a new species I really like to change one of my breeding pairs. I got caught flatfooted by coatls so made sure to have some PERFECT breeding pairs ready for next time.

None of my dragons really suit any of the recent genes, but I do like smoke so plan on buying some smoky babies once the price comes down and I know what I like. We'll see how I feel about the upcoming genes.

At some point I have to find a mate for this lovely coatl I bought cheap on a whim. Maybe once I sell off some more of these babies and make room for new aquisitions :)

I am too broke to buy more dragons, but I'm attempting to level up Jedao and Cheris to 25, even though I already have three 25s for Coli grinding (Niath, Kujen, and Mikodez). I'm a masochist? Everyone's kitted out with Ambushes/etc. except Cheris only has one, and that's because I'm hoping for one to drop during grinding sometime. :p (It's happened before, goodness knows.)

It definitely happens; I got my first Ambush smacking things around in the Training Fields during Brightshine Jubilee.

Thank you! I'd buy a mate but I just know I'll end up with EVEN MORE extra dragons if I let myself at the auction house.
