I haven't played long enough at all to have a feel for the value of items on the site. Do holiday items generally go up in value after the holiday is over? Do you all think it's worth banking Nocturne eggs/scrolls for sale later?

Yes! Holiday items generally go up in value quite highly after holidays are over. It kind of depends on what kind of holiday item it is and how in demand it is; I've never had much success selling skin-holding chests, but limited edition familiars and scrolls always seem to go up in value. So I would imagine limited edition dragon eggs would as well!

Absolutely. I think the prices of non first gen Nocturnes are going to go down pretty dramatically as people breed more of them(*), but first gen dragons (eg the sort you get from eggs found scavenging) and scrolls are going to become SUPER hard to get and thus more expensive. Especially scrolls, for all those "I love this dragon but woul love them more if they were a Nocturne" moments.

Hoarding limited edition items to sell later is one of the easiest and most reliable ways to make money on FR, especially if you wait until new players come along who have no other way to attain them. (Note that elememntal head decorations are the same every year, so are less limited than other holiday gear)

(*)When I joined a year and a half ago people would save up literal millions of treasure to buy "their first Imperial". But then they were bred so much that supply outpaced demand and the market went kaplooey. Yet any Imperials SCROLLS that remain would be worth a bucketload.

They're generally pretty clear about that, since so many people rely on limited edition items as an investment. For example, they "cycled out" Wildclaw scrolls from the marketplace for a few months but everyone knew they'd cycle back eventually.

I'd imagine that the familiars and absolutely, yes, the scrolls for the nocturnes should appreciate quite well. The Nocturnes themselves will probably quickly depreciate in value, especially once they start breeding, but the scrolls and familiars are limited by number and bound to only get rarer as the site grows.

Honestly, I'd sell nocturne eggs now. In six months or whatever, there'll be lots of nocturne babies on the site attracting attention. Part of the reason they're selling high at the moment is that nocturnes are a new breed as well as only being obtainable through eggs/scrolls during this event.

So, I'd sell eggs now... BUT sell scrolls (if you don't wanna use them) later, because scrolls will always be hard to get and pricey.

I'm pretty sure on the eggs part, less sure on the scrolls part, fwiw.
