Molten Wartoad in Mire OH NOEZ!!!
Jul. 3rd, 2015 03:41 pmIt flattened my entire party. I suppose they felt the need to have a Boss Monster there ... although Harpy's Roost still doesn't have one. And the Coarsefur Yeti in Boreal Wood is pretty pathetic compared with the Gold/Silverbeasts in Rainsong Jungle or the Mantarune or Wavesweeper in Kelp Beds.

I agree, Yetis not so bad. Mantarunes still send me fleeing. :p

Date: 2015-07-04 01:45 am (UTC)No, a lvl 25 trio with full breath might have been OK - I was trying to level up a 12 with my dad-and-daughter lvl 25 duo.
It came to my attention during the last festival that I have a couple of dozen level 4 to 10 dragons, one 20 (I just brought her up from lvl 19 today), and then five lvl 23-25 dragons. So I'm trying to bring a few dragons well up into the teens so I can be more effective at the mid-level venues. (Higher-level dragons don't seem to get quite as good stuff in lower-level venues.) I now have a lvl 13 team, though, as of today.

I ended up with four 25s - I bought one (no stones), and leveled up the other 3 as a team. I go through spurts of can't-be-bothered with the coli, though.
Congrats on getting your teens together.

Date: 2015-07-05 07:40 pm (UTC)It *is* a lot of dragons. And because I have no common sense, I just bought two more so I can breed blue-range cryface Pearlcatchers.
I have no self-control regarding my pixelbeasts.

Date: 2015-07-05 07:41 pm (UTC)I have never tried training that way! So you use one presumably lvl 25 with two novices in the Mire?

Date: 2015-07-05 08:22 pm (UTC)Those toads, though. I understand the elemental slashes, but it's plain unfair for a physical fighter to have Sear! They're hard enough to deal with for two level 25 fighters, let alone one.

Date: 2015-07-04 05:49 am (UTC)Oh well, I do enjoy having more familiars!

Date: 2015-07-05 07:46 pm (UTC)Not just the bosses, either! The relentless two-attack-per-round mobs — which I think were first seen in the Golem Workshop — are tough on glass cannons too. Rainsong Jungle drives me nuts that way: I can almost never get out of there with any saved Breath. I'll have to see what happens when my current lvl 13 team gets high enough level for that venue.
I managed to survive a Molten Wartoad yesterday, but today I ran into the blue Wartoad and got splatted. I did manage to score a Mossy Cerdae familiar earlier, though.
