chomiji: Screen shot of my Flight Rising matriarch, Yarok (Flight Rising)

So I was saving for Coatl scrolls. Holy crow, are those things expensive!

I had about 25% of the price of one scroll saved up. And I had more than 150 gems, mainly from familiars.

And I saw a perfect "Neon Wings" male Coatl baby in the AH for 100 gems.

So of course, I bought him.

Do you know, I can probably match him up with a mate AND expand my lair again for the treasure I've got saved plus my next several days' earnings?

The economy of this game makes no kind of sense ... .

So far (granted, I'm not playing with nearly the intensity of others on this comm) I have bought only hatchlings, not scrolls. Works for me. :)

Nono, it's definitely true that scrolls cost waaaaay more than buying dragons with the genes/breeds you want. Like, no matter how much you're paying for a dragon, it costs 10x if you were to scroll it up yourself.

I pay for scrolls because I don't want to let go of the cheaper dragons I bought when I was starting out. They're precious to me. It's definitely not because it makes any kind of economic sense. ;)

Absolutely, I'm the same. Not even just my progenitors, either. I exalted a lot of my first purchases, but there are too many dragons that I love too much and I want them gened to spec. It also makes it easier to get exactly the combination I want.

I've bought a few scrolls to change dragons I had and liked into something that was even prettier. I had a Wildclaw who was pretty, but as a Coatl, she's beautiful.

I tend to buy gems, but I do online surveys for small amounts of cash and have always followed the personal rule that I can blow survey income on online games if I want (or Amazon gift certificates, if I'm so inclined at payout time), so I don't feel guilty about it. :D
