Question About a Coatl Couple
Jun. 14th, 2014 09:50 pmSo I got these two from Jinxaire ... .
This is Sarisse:

(Yeah, Sarisse is male. That's the name he came with. Don't ask me: I got nothin'.)
I thought, "Well, I was thinking of getting more coatls, and technically, they meet the basic definition of Neon Wings."
But you know, I am not into their coloring after all. I was thinking of posting them for sale for maybe 90 KT each, or 175 KT for the pair.
They're ready to breed. If they were your no-longer-wanted and potentially valuable dragons, would you do that first, or just sell them as RTB?
(The other coatl breeding pair in the queue are Shimshi and Tekhlet, who are a bit of an odd couple for color. Tekhelet is newly rippled, but Shimshi is tiger, so there may be no ripple babies as a result.)

probably not useful but

Date: 2014-06-15 02:19 am (UTC)It seems his parents were named Euthanasia (male) and Sugar. Apparently his line has been confounding conventional gender assumptions for a couple of generations! (And more power to them ... why I expect pixel beasts to conform is beyond me.)
So maybe it's meant to be said "Sa-RIS-seh" and not "Sa-REESE." Hmm.

Date: 2014-06-15 02:23 am (UTC)My dragon Kujen is named after a gay male character (well, it's complicated, he's also undead) and the original motivation for shelling him as a female dragon was so I could breed him to Jedao, who is named after a bisexual male character and got shelled as a male dragon. This was before I understood how the color inheritance worked and that the two would likely have WTF-loud-ugly dragon babies if I ever attempted the experiment. :p (Jedao is Obsidian/Tomato/Banana and Kujen is Obsidian/White/Maize. Is it just me, or is maize being in the middle of white and all the pinks designed to make breeders cry? I would have put it in the yellows/tans myself.)

Date: 2014-06-15 02:51 am (UTC)I really do wonder about the maize. I'm not sure why it's not with ivory, lemon, etc.
I think the reason why there are so many purple-range dragons is people trying for black/obsidian etc. and missing. And the location of all those brown shades in the middle of red and orange and yellow really makes it tough to do dragons with nice flame coloring.
You've see this tool, right?
I've been pretty damn unadventurous with my dragons' headcanons that way, give how much I enjoy nonconforming manga characters like Akari in Samurai Deeper Kyo and Grelle in Black Butler.
