My next attempted Daub nest only had one egg, but he's a cutie (albeit already grown up, because it's been that kind of week). And my beloved Neon Wing pearlcatcher lady Bareketli and her mate had three pretty girls:
Seafoam Ripple / Forest Daub / Swamp Underbelly (boy)
Obsidian Iridescent / Emerald Shimmer / Emerald Gembond
Hey, note: ** This girl is an "Extreme Neon Wing" (and therefore also an x/y/y, that being part of the Extreme Neon Wing requirement)
Obsidian Iridescent / Seafoam Shimmer / Jade Gembond
Obsidian Iridescent / Seafoam Shimmer / Jungle Smoke
Anyone want? Let me know what you want to pay. OK? OK!

Date: 2014-11-01 12:34 am (UTC)I shouldn't, but what price range are you looking for for him? (I have no idea what Daub WCs are going for.)

Date: 2014-11-01 12:44 am (UTC)Better check whether he would work with the girl one: I think my four green-range parent WCs are all different enough, but you never know. (And I just got a new one ... I think I'm retiring Yaar.)
I have him posted at 40 KT, but you can have him for 15 KT if he works for you. Like
yhlee, I'm trying to clear room for incoming hatchies.

Date: 2014-11-02 07:17 pm (UTC)I've posted her on AH at 110 gems, which is about 44,000 treasure or 44 "KT" ("thousand treasure" - kilo-treasure); I'm currently using a rate of 400 treasure per gem. The high price (for a Pearlcatcher ... it's pretty modest price for a Wildclaw or Coatl) is because she is pretty special in the wonkitude of serious dragon breeding: she has the x/y/y color pattern, her genes are all pretty desirable and popular, and there's the "Extreme Neon Wing" thing (which basically means her eyes match her secondary and tertiary).
An easy way to check prices is to search the auction house for dragons of that breed and geneage, and see what they're selling for. That's far form perfect: I've seen some gorgeous dragons selling for 10 KT and some really pug-ugly ones without terribly fancy genes selling for 1000 KT. Go figure ... or maybe it's just that there really is no accounting for taste.
I've been known to hand out dragons for free (to new folks, especially) here and also to offer various discounts, just to get the dragons into a good long-term home. Would you be able to do 22,000 ("22 KT")? I can go lower because I know you are just starting out.

Date: 2014-11-03 12:28 pm (UTC)The sad truth is, there are so many dragons for sale that I still may be faced with Exalting her in a few days, despite her good points! It's a rough market for sellers. Should I check with you then?

Date: 2014-11-04 03:12 am (UTC)Sure! I'll have to see how much treasure I have at that point--I'll have to build it back up a bit after buying a lair expansion in the next day or so. ^_^
The whole Exalting thing confuses me. I gather that once you do it, the dragon is effectively gone but contributes somehow to whether your Flight becomes dominant in the next calculation...? Do you get anything back for doing it, in terms of treasure or whatever, or is it just a way to clear space in the lair?

Date: 2014-11-04 12:52 pm (UTC)So yeah, you get a cash payout when you Exalt a dragon. It depends on how high level the dragon is. Here's a table showing the rough amounts, because there seems to be a bit of random slop as well. Sometimes you even get a couple of gems thrown in with the cash treasure. So having a combat team becomes really important, because you can put n00b dragons that you want to Exalt with them and go into high-level Coli venues and level the novices up pretty quickly, and then you can get more money on Exalt. I usually level mine to 7 nowadays before Exalt.
There are also daily Exalt bonuses for particular breeds, colors, genes, etc. Check the main page of the site. If you have space in your lair, you can hold onto a ready-to-Exalt dragon for a few days and get a bonus when one or more characteristics match the day's bonuses.
And yeah, each Exalt counts for your flight's Dominance for that week. So if your flight is having a Dominance Push (usually discussed beforehand in the flight's private Forum), where all members are encouraged to Exalt as many as possible, people will buy dragons at low prices and then level them up up recoup their expenses at Exalt. That's why you see cheap dragon prices referred to as "Exalt prices." And at such times, dragons of less than about 5000 T are really hard to find!

Date: 2014-11-06 03:10 am (UTC)After you Exalt a dragon, is there anyplace where you can look at it again? So far my favorite part of the game is how lovely some of them are.
