I traded an egg for one Nocturne I wanted and bought another off the AH. But I've only got a couple of the mimic familiars and two of the bears that I already had. Oh well!

I got another cragbacked bouldursa and another hibernal starbear out of chests, but I haven't gotten any of the mimic bears yet.

I have 4 mimic bears, but one is a duplicate of one of the others.

ETA: And I didn't think to ask about the mimic monsters ... I bought all 3 on AH because they were so cheap.

Yeah, I'd like to get the bears! I'm not planning on buying the mimic familiars unless I actually can't manage to get them out of chests or from the coli, but I'm really eyeing the AH prices on the bears.

I have 1 Nocturne, 1 Bear Imposter, and I traded an egg for a different dragon. And at this point, I'm pretty over opening chests of weird trinkets and buttplants and fish.

Yeah. *sigh* I should go do something more rewarding, like Fandom Stocking fills. But I do have to say that the FR staff found a pretty clever way to put some load on the servers ... I still want to find an egg.

I bought my Nocturne by depleting both my gem and treasure savings (it was originally up for 5000 gems), but it was totally worth it given that it was leaf/green/avocado. When I finally got an egg, I hatched and sold it.

Haven't had much luck with Nocturnes since then, but I did manage to get all the decoy bear familiars as of yesterday. I even have an extra of the Arcane decoy that I'll be happy to give away here if anyone still needs it.

I'm full-up on familiars with duplicates of most. Three Nocturnes in lair, two eyeburners given to a friend, two sold. I don't even want to think about the amount of grinding this has taken. :p I probably should trade for something in a preferred color scheme (I like my blackred/redgold dragons and I have a very nice blue) but I'm too disorganized.

It took me 340 chests to get an egg - yes, I kept track - and then I sold it (for only 710 gems; the price had really come down by then. It was 10x that the first day of the event.)

I really hope I can find a pair of scrolls, because I know I'll never be able to afford buying them!

I've gotten three eggs and a scroll so far, plus a couple different familiars. Coli grinding mostly.

I got one egg from a chest and hatched it (the pink boy), then traded that hatchie for a girl.

I've since foolishly spent most of my treasure to buy a boy Noc. :(

As for bears, I got two livewire grizzlies, a lavaborne hoax, a sun-whatever ursa, and a mimic.

Digging is barely yielding any chests these past few days, and I've managed maybe 10 total from coli drops.

Speaking of, how the hairy heck does one make money in this game? There has to be a better way than the pittance from games.

With everyone obsessed about Nocs, other dragons aren't selling and I'm running out of lair space with 2 nests about to hatch! >.< ...oops.

I'm no master at this, but these are ways I make money:

• Train and Exalt unsold dragons (pay attention to the daily bonuses for Exalt; if you have space to train them to 7th or so and then wait for a bonus, you can make a good little chunk of cash)
• Breed and sell fancy dragons (this is the chanciest, but I sold all 3 of my recent crystal imps for 95 KT and up)
• Make sure to bond with your familiars every day: the daily payouts are pocket change, but you have chances of decent chunks of cash (and gems) as you get the bonus chests
• Sell things on the AH! Things you get from Swipp (this will get easier as you go ... check the Swipp guide to get familiar with what things you should let add up), things from familiar bonus chests, things from the Coliseum. Grind for additional holiday goods, especially familiars and the flashier apparel, and hold them as investments for several months. Pay attention to what items are selling for and try to undercut those prices just slightly. If things are selling for close to their list price, don't bother to go to AH unless you're in a gambling mood - just sell them directly from your hoard. This is how I make most of my cash.

Oh ... your dragons are all still hatchies. No training and Exalting. I can hold a couple of them for you for a couple of days? And I can train and Exalt some of my unsold adults to make room for more - my upcoming clutch is only 2 eggs.

I've been staggering my breeding a bit to avoid this situation myself. I usually don't start a new nest until the previous one is a day away from hatching.

I need to clear out some of the adults, actually. I just haven't had the patience or time to train them.

There's five unnamed hatchies that I can't decide what to do with. :p And I wasn't going to breed WCs, but those two 2 week old ones are so nicely colored... Argh.

I better get to grinding. :p

eta: And in thinking all that through, I forgot to say thank you for offering!! I'll ping you if I end up drowning in hatchies.

You know to train them by assigning them to a team of high-level dragons and go into the highest venue that your high-levels can clear, right? And not worry about the novices dying every time? It took me ages to figure out how that worked. telophase pointed me in the right direction. I was trying to train them up in venues appropriate to their puny levels, and it took forever.

Er, yes. Grand idea. That would make life easier. ^_^;;

My highest are still only at 8, but that's better than 1!

Want me to train one or two of them? Like I said, I have some room at the moment. You can send them as a 1-T transaction, and I'll send them back the same way when they're lvl 7. In the Mire, you can often take a dragon to level 3 in the first combat ... .

It took me forever to figure out that you could keep going and get a free restoration when only part of your party died. *facepalm*

I'm happy to train up a couple of dragons for you, too. Right now I'm trying to get a fourth one to level 25, which takes roughly forever. Leveling up little ones makes a nice accomplished break from that!

You can? Oh. Geez. I'm so used to RPGs where you have to manually heal everybody all the time...
